There are moments in life we wish we could freeze in time.  We live them.  We live for them.  What is life if we cannot experience these moments of joy, wonder, and happiness?  This is why the American Heart Association (AHA) wants people to experience more of life’s precious moments.

This year, John and I celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary, but it’s our pledge to our next 25 that we find even more exciting; which is why we’ve decided to serve as Open Your Heart Champions for the 2016 “Hearts in Havana” Houston Heart Ball.  We are thrilled and humbled to have the opportunity to support such a wonderful organization.  As Open Your Heart Champions, we are reaching out to past Heart Ball supporters, along with our closest friends and family to ask you to join us at the $2,500 level, in celebration of the first AND the next 25 years together!

A gift of $2,500 could make an impact on more than 12,000 Houston area youth, by teaching them how to avoid childhood obesity through nutrition and exercise education.  Your gift could also help train 100 Houston families in CPR, which in turn could lead to 2,000 lifesavers in Houston alone!!

As an Open Your Heart donor of $1,000 or more, you will be recognized on the Houston Heart Ball website, invitation, event program, and on the Open Your Heart Tribute Wall alongside John and myself.

Your Open Your Heart gift is 100% tax-deductible.

Our Mission Drives Everything We Do

Building healthier lives, free of cardiovascular disease and stroke.

Currently, cardiovascular disease is the No. 1 killer in America, and stroke-related deaths are No. 5. Your support of the American Heart Association will help us in our strategic goal to improve the cardiovascular health of all Americans by 20 percent while reducing deaths from cardiovascular disease and stroke by 20 percent by 2020.
