We know health is personal – it’s about more than just numbers and tests, it’s about your physical, mental and emotional well-being. It’s about you. Go Red for Women is championing better health and well-being for all women, helping them live their best lives through every age, stage, and season. More than 44% of women ages 20 and older are living with some form of cardiovascular disease. The good news: women have the best resource – each other. Women have the power to help each other. To support each other. To teach each other. To empower each other. And we're on a mission to make sure no woman has to go it alone. The Go Red for Women event experience focuses on connection and engagement, fostering an atmosphere of interaction and networking at every turn. We will celebrate the power of women banding together and the joy of spending time with fellow champions of our mission. The event will include education and experiences that can help improve your health and well-being and that of the women you know and love. We know that when women come together, we’re unstoppable. This year, the Houston Go Red for Women Luncheon will feature Dr. ShantaQuilette Develle. Dr. ShantaQuilette, known affectionately as Shanta Q, is a nationally recognized heart health advocate, keynote speaker, and comedic storyteller who transforms serious conversations about wellness into engaging, impactful experiences. A two-time stroke and heart attack survivor, Dr. Shanta uses her signature humor, relatability, and lived experience to empower audiences to take charge of their health. As an Ambassador for the American Heart Association (AHA) and a global voice in health equity, Dr. Shanta has been featured on major platforms, inspiring communities with her no-nonsense approach to wellness. She blends education, storytelling, and humor to make heart health a conversation people want to have — not one they’re afraid to face. With over 2 million social media followers and 1 billion+ impressions, Dr. Shanta leverages her platform to dismantle misinformation about heart disease, stroke prevention, and the disparities impacting Black women in healthcare. Her message is clear: knowing your body, advocating for yourself, and taking small daily steps can be the difference between surviving and thriving. Whether on stage, online, or in the community, Dr. ShantaQuilette is proof that laughter and learning go hand in hand — and that every heartbeat matters. Come hear her story on May 9 as we Go Red for Women.
